Company background

Luztrend grew out of a team with over a decade of experience in the optical communications industry. Serving carriers and enterprise customers over the years gave us a full stack of engineering capability — from hardware design and embedded software to large-scale deployment.

The arrival of the AI era surfaced a new problem: enterprises want AI inside their actual workflows, yet find themselves handing data to third-party clouds. That directly conflicts with the principle we have held all along — data should stay under the control of the people who generate it. Luz AIbox was built to resolve that conflict, using our communications-hardware engineering foundation to put full Agent capability into a device that sits on your own desk.

Founding team

The core team comes from the optical communications and embedded systems field, with an average of more than ten years of experience. We have been through the complete cycle — product definition, hardware prototyping, volume manufacturing, and overseas market launch. We are not a company that pivoted to AI overnight; making hardware stable and dependable is what we have been doing for over a decade.

The team also brings cross-border sales and compliance experience, enabling localized support for customers in different countries and regions.

Why local-first

"Local-first" is not a marketing slogan for us — it is our default position on data. The device is in your hands, and so is your data: task orchestration, persistent memory and tool use all run on the device itself. Only when you actively make a request that needs cloud capability does it connect to the large language model service you have chosen.

We do not treat "cloud intelligence" and "local control" as an either-or choice. The real product question is which work must stay local and which work is worth sending to the cloud — and that boundary should be the user's call.

Milestones

Optical communications era: the team spent years developing optical communications products and selling them overseas, serving carriers and enterprise customers.
Moving into AI hardware: guided by our conviction about data sovereignty, we started the AI agent hardware project and brought the Agent runtime onto the device itself.
Luz AIbox launch: we released a plug-and-play AI agent hardware box that runs a full Agent locally and connects to the cloud LLM of the user's choice.
Continuous iteration: ongoing improvement through free OTA updates, expanding multilingual and multi-region support.
